KARAK, July 21: Senior members and former office-bearers of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), Karak, have vowed to resolve differences in party ranks and said that the party would field candidates in all constituencies of the district in next general election.

This was decided in a meeting at the party office here on Saturday and all the dissident members attended it on the directives of JUI-F central chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

District senior vice president Maulana Mohammad Farooq chaired the meeting, which was also attended by former district president Ibne Ameen and Maulana Zahoor Ahmad.

The meeting decided that a jirga of all dissidents would be convened in the district and they would be persuaded to shun differences and save the party. They said that all orders of the party chief would be followed.

The meeting also decided that those party workers who had been sidelined due to wrong policies of the incumbent district president and MNA Mufti Mohammad Ajmal would be brought back. It said that the party district leadership would ask the MNA to pacify grievances of party activists by announcing development package for the area.

Through a unanimous resolution the meeting decided that the party candidates would be fielded in all three constituencies of the district.

POWER OUTAGE: Power suspension continued for over 24 hours in parts of Banda Daud Shah tehsil and Takht-i-Nusrati and people of these areas demanded early restoration of power supply.

Area people said on Saturday that heavy rains and windstorm uprooted power pylons, which have not been repaired so far. They said that power suspension has created water shortage in the affected areas and threatened to stage protest if power supply was not restored.

Officials of Peshawar Electric Supply Company in Karak said that work had already been started on the damaged pylons and hoped that power supply would be restored till Saturday evening.

KILLED: A man was killed over old enmity in Banda Daud Shah tehsil here on Saturday.

The area police said that two people opened fire on one Bismillah Jan, resident of Jatta Ismaelkhel, killing him on the spot. Shakeel Khan, brother of the victim, nominated two accused Fazal and Anwar Iqbal in the FIR registered with Banda Daud Shah police station.
