ISLAMABAD: Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik on Sunday said that corruption of Sharif brothers was exposed among the public and they seemed puzzled following the opening of their cases in court.

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif usually proceeds to London whenever the country is in a difficult situation and starts issuing unfair and incorrect statements there.

Rehman Malik said Nawaz Sharif has always lauded registration of cases by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or other agencies against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) but “if he thinks that he is true then he should have approached the courts in London on his family involvement in alleged corruption (money laundering) of $32 million.”

The advisor said that he challenged Nawaz Sharif to file a defamation case against him so that he could present all proofs in the court of law.

“The PPP is not trying to protect anyone rather it is endeavoring for the supremacy of law and the Parliament,” he said.

Rehman Malik said Nawaz Sharif had sought pardon from General Pervez Musharraf for closure of cases against him and other members of his family.

He said as a result of the pardon, Nawaz and his brother Shahbaz Sharif were exonerated and they left the country while leaving their close aides in the lurch.
