ATTOCK, July 7:  District Police Officer Mohammad Hilal Khan suspended the Attock city police investigating officer for faulty probe into a fraud case.

The police said SI Mohammad Ramzan had been given the task to probe the case in which one Sajjad Hussain Shah while disguising as an officer of a sensitive agency had deprived a number of citizens of their money.

On Friday, the fraud victims had staged a protest demonstration in front of the district police headquarters against the unsatisfactory investigation.

They alleged that the IO could not recover the looted valuables of the victims despite getting physical remand of the accused.

Meanwhile, the DPO served show-cause notices on SHOs  Israr Ahmed  Satti of Hazro police, Tahir Abbas of Attock city  police, Aurangzaib Khan of Saddar Hasanabdal police, Ahmed Khan of Jand police and Allah Buksh of Injra police for their failure to arrest proclaimed offenders.—Correspondent
