Designer Umar Sayeed’s latest collection is all  about colours fused with  classic traditional motifs and embellishments while introducing a new colour spectrum in bridal fashions to break away from predictability and monotony.

Having showed select pieces at a fashion week to a standing ovation, they appear for the very first time in print within these pages.

“I hardly do any shoots in Karachi. When Umer Mushtaq approached me to do a shoot for Images on Sunday, I said yes because after having coordinated my   earlier shoots, he knows what I want. Sadly, I’ll be out of Pakistan when it  comes out in print but I have great hopes for it,” said the designer.

Giving her sound bytes for the shoot, Rizwana Khan said she loves fashion and bridal  is but one of its many forms. “I have a different approach to make-up and styling when it comes to bridals — more creative with a touch of passion in it. I believe in giving my signature style to every bride,” she added.

The timeless, classic appeal of bridal wear is infused here with layered embellishments in matte   gold and an elaborate faux neckline on the back to redefine fashion and change the way brides look this season and onwards.  Coupled with it is sensuousness and comfort that gives a bride added confidence and glow, making her stand out on her wedding day.

“I consider it a privilege  and an honour to shoot for Umar Sayeed. I love wearing his clothes,” said model Huma Khan. “Rizwana Khan is technically a very strong hair and make-up artist and I have also worked with Zeeshan Ghori before. It’s  always a pleasure to do  shoots with him,” she added.

This is fashion photographer Zeeshan Ghori’s first editorial shoot with the designer. He said, “I know that Umar likes to have great images as he is very particular about lighting, props, etc. I have tried to execute it according to his expectations.”

“Umar Sayeed is an all-round favourite and one of our best bridal designers. His shoots are always exciting,” said fashion coordinator Umer Mushtaq.

“Huma Khan is a promising addition to fashion modelling while Zeeshan Ghori and I share a great rapport. Rizwana Khan is good at hair and make-up.”  — T. Raza
