ISLAMABAD, June 29: A mini-factory producing spurious soda water was discovered during a joint raid conducted by capital police and administration of Naz Market in G-9/1 sector, police said on Friday.

The raid led to the arrest of three persons besides the recovery of seven crates of soda water along with raw material used in making the unhygienic drink.

The city administration had been receiving several complaints from public that had fallen ill after drinking soda water being sold in the market. In response, the administration approached the sellers, who spotted the factory in Naz Market.

Upon raid, the owner of the factory that was set up in a shop failed to produce any permit for making the soda water.

Later, the arrested persons were shifted to Margalla police station for further legal action.
