KUALA LUMPUR: The International Cricket Council's chief executives have no objection to Pakistan staging a six-match Twenty20 series against Australia at the United Arab Emirates in August.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has asked the ICC for flexibility in rescheduling its three-match ODI and three T20s series against Australia due to extreme daytime heat in the UAE.

The ICC said in a statement after the Chief Executive Committee's two-day meeting that the CEC “raised no objections to the principle of a six-match T20 series.”

The recommendation will now be forwarded to the ICC Board meeting scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pakistan has been organizing its home matches mainly in the UAE since a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in 2009 stopped international teams traveling to Pakistan.
