HYDERABAD, June 22: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that his party will soon march on Islamabad to press the PPP-led government on various issues of national importance.

As a prelude to the “tsunami march on Islamabad”, the party would hold a big rally in Faisalabad on June 27, he said.

Speaking at a public gathering here on Friday, Mr Khan said that while Nawaz Sharif would not be able to end corruption even in the next 90 years, the PTI would end it within nine days of coming into power.

He said that his party didn’t want the division of Sindh because it had a history of 5,000 years.

Criticising the election of Raja Pervez Ashraf as prime minister, Mr Khan remarked: “Asif Zardari considers us to be animals and believes he can do whatever he wants to do.”

He said the appointment of Mr Ashraf as the prime minister had made it clear that “Mr Zardari wanted to destroy the country”.

He said a one-minute session of the National Assembly cost the exchequer Rs66,000 of taxpayers’ money.

“I want to ask the parliamentarians… are you a saleable commodity,” he said. The parliament elected Mr Zardari as president who was known as Mr Ten Per Cent then.

“Those who have voted for Rental Raja have sold their conscience,” he alleged.

Mr Khan said that his party would break the status quo. The local bodies system as envisaged by his party would solve the people’s problems at the village level.

He said that Pakistanis working abroad would happily send money back home if his party came to power.

He vowed to bring money of all politicians back to Pakistan. “Nawaz Sharif can’t bring the wealth of Zardari back to the country because he himself has accounts in foreign banks.”

He said that no one would be able to get PTI’s ticket or to become a CEC member unless he declared his assets.

“We will not accept slavery of the US,” he declared.
