KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that only solution to solve multifarious problems facing the country was by holding free, fair and transparent elections, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives on arrival at Karachi airport, he contended that all the parties in Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government have failed to deliver.

Khan and other party leaders are here to address a public meeting in Hyderabad on Friday.

The PTI chief said that he would address a public meeting on June 27 in Faisalabad against persistent long duration power loadshedding and price spiral.

He accused the PPP of attacking peace rally of the PTI in Karachi few days back, taken out in support of independence of judiciary.

Commending the verdict of the apex court for declaring former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani disqualified from the Parliament, he said the verdict will be proved as an important milestone in national politics as it was for the first time that a ruler was convicted by the judiciary.

Commenting on nominees for the post of prime minister, Khan said: “All are corrupt.”

The party chief said that the new prime minister from the PPP would not write a letter to Swiss authorities as well. “Doesn’t matter who is chosen for the post….will be a servant of President Asif Ali Zardari,” he added.

Senior party leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, who was also present on the occasion, said that he regretted that Yousuf Raza Gilani could not earn goodwill in national politics.
