FnkAsia recently had a fashion presentation of its summer collection consisting of citrus, neons, yellows, green and orange hues with a blend of accessories and tribal palazzos, along with statement necklace tops and tie-and-dye draped dresses.

It was designer Huma Adnan’s idea that her celebrity clientele and fashionistas wear their own outfits instead of fashion models donning them as, according to her, “They should be the real stars of the evening.” The vibrant accessories comprised handmade jewellery, clutches and flip-flops.

Speaking to Images on Sunday, Huma said that other designers are also getting into the act after fashion weeks have popularised prêt. “I’m happy that the fashion industry is growing but I don’t worry about the competition. Prêt wear is expanding both here and outside and my clientele remains loyal. Meanwhile, here the fashion industry mafia continues to recognise me but has not accepted me as yet.”
