LAHORE: Pakistan’s Test and One-day International captain Misbah-ul-Haq is quite satisfied with the raise given to him in the new central contract that was announced recently by the Pakistan Cricket Board for 42 players.

Talking to reporters, Misbah said although he had not read a single page of the central contract, the raise of 25 per cent given to him was sufficient according to the current situation where there is no international cricket being held in the country.

The PCB gave the raise after a lapse of three years and has also increased the match-fee of the players by 10 per cent.

Misbah categorically rejected recent media reports that the senior players were not happy with the contracts, wondering who was spreading such news.

Misbah said he had given his full backing to the newly-appointed T20 captain Mohammad Hafeez, who will be leading Pakistan in their first Twenty20 against Sri Lanka on Friday.
