QUETTA, April 23: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) condemned on Monday target killing of Pakhtuns in Karachi and Hazaras in Quetta and called upon the government to take effective measures to stop these acts of terror.

The PkMAP leaders were speaking at a rally organised by the party at the Bacha Khan chowk.Usman Kakar, Dr Hamid Khan, Rauf Lala, Sardar Mustafa Tareen, Obaidullah Babat, Tahir Hazara, Yousuf Khan and Abbass Shah condemned the killing of Pakhtuns in Karachi, Baloch and Hazaras in Quetta and Pakhtun shopkeepers and transporters in the Baloch-dominated areas of Balochistan. They also condemned dumping of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch nationalist activists.

They criticised the federal government and provincial governments of Balochistan and Sindh for their failure to control the law and order situation and said that a government that could not curb violence had no right to remain in power.

The PkMAP leaders held the MQM responsible for the killing of Pakhtuns in Karachi and said the party was also behind the massacre of Pakhtuns in Karachi on May 12, 2007.

They said the PkMAP would continue raising its voice against injustice done to the Pakhtuns and other oppressed communities in the country.

BOYCOTT: Lawyers in Quetta boycotted courts for the third consecutive day on Monday in response to a call by the Balochistan Bar Association and Balochistan High Court Bar Association demanding return of Mukesh Nath Kohli, a lawyer who was kidnapped on Friday.

The lawyers did not appear in the high court, sessions and civil courts, anti-terrorist court and judicial magistrates.

They said court boycott would continue till Mr Kohli came back.

They also took out a procession and assembled at the Manan chowk.

They expressed concern over the failure of law-enforcement agencies to trace the kidnapped lawyers despite the passage of four days.
