ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Asim Hussain on Tuesday said that measures have been taken to reduce the prices of petroleum products to facilitate the masses.

Speaking to a private news channel, he said that there are different factors involved in the pricing of petroleum products including increase in the prices of international market.

Dr Asim said that petroleum prices in the neighboring countries are higher as compared to Pakistan.

Replying to a question, he said that there is a need to improve the tax culture in the country.

He said that the government is taking all possible measures to provide relief to the masses and in this regard, all out efforts are being made to achieve the objectives.

Replying to another question the minister said “There is no truth that the government is taking profit through petroleum products.”
