Difference of opinion or difference of choice has killed many people from the beginning of world . It's very strange, hate, anger, violence is the out come of our difference of thoughts . Just because the other person does not agree with us or does not hold the same ideas . Should never result in violence . we can control how we behave ,how we think , we cant control others thought process. My best friend is from Karachi and everyday i browse this site to see if everything is fine in Karachi. And everyday i see killings and lose of humanity . IF this continues plp will not value life. Death will become just a Number .

What is the bottomeline? Uncontrollabe lawlessness in the city that defies every writ of the Government. If continued it would result in more deaths and destruction. Let the army come in to save the situation. Deepest condolenses to the survivors of the victims who lost their lives in this bloody violence.

Death has become just a number! During arson attacks, when these extremists snatch people's cars and valuables, if an old man takes more than a second to make a swift exit out of the car, the petrol-bomb is thrown in with the person still in! This happened to someone I know - an old man. :(

I hear stories about basic human rights abuses in Karachi and Pakistan everyday. How people inflict such pain on each other and society as a whole is an enigma to me. We are an Islamic nation; are we all hypocrites? We hold such pride in our religion, yet fail to abide by its very basic lessons.

This is simply heartbreaking... I pray that people will learn to respect the sanctity of life. For something to be done, 'the people' not the political parties must stand up united against this. If we let terrorist and villains take hold of our beloved city, then no one is going to be safe. The heat is getting to intense, its time to root out the culprits. That is too much. It's time to take actions against failed system. The irony is that not even single criminal has been arrested yet. What does it say? It says that these criminals have blessings of political parties and politicians. This is a comment on the title of the article, not the story itself. It is an apt title, I believe the wordsof the title are from a Johnny Cash song called " Hurt." The lyrics of the song are, in my humble opinion, definitely worth reading. Interestingly, it was written by Trent Reznor ( previously from Nine Inch Nails) who appears to have matured tremendously as judged by the depth of the lyrics.

Really sad to see such escalating violence in a flourishing city of Pakistan. my heart goes out to victim's families. Children & women indiscriminately being targeted begs the question why the security establishments not putting all the might to root out the perpetrators of the crime. what social groups are working to draw away youngsters and unemployed from becoming involved. society leaders across the ethnic would have to step up and jointly appeal for this to stop. As an onlooker, there can be only words unsaid, feelings that don't find expression. A burgeoning population may mean that an " old man " may not be missed for too long, but it's still us who are answerable.

I do not think Pakistan has a government that cares for the lives of innocent people. In most cities terrorists and gangs are killing people. Why can this reporting about the killings be not done without publicizing the most devastating moments of a family? They have just lost a loved one, and reporters and their photographers are busy taking their pictures. These are very private moments, let them grieve in peace. What do we get by looking at the pictures of the crying relatives??

The main thing we need to understand is the basic and the root cause is the racism which exist in pakistan.We dont need any POLITICAL we just need life in our blessed country. We dont need ZARDARIS rule ..... we need young people to stepped up and rule the country ...

The situation in karachi is deplorable but it is the outcome of policies of present regime as reconciliation with cirminals, land grabbers & mafias will only result what is being observed in Karachi. They must take action against all these mafias instead of time gaining time to complete their tenure. Everyday Dawn is reporting the killings! It looks like they just have to change the number of deaths!!!! The only solution is to fall back to non-violence. Even if its not for the path of Mahatama, Pakistanis still can revert to the philosophy of the Mahatam comrade Bacha Khan (the Frontier Gandhi) and stop violence. Pakistanis have yet to accept that Bacha Khan was an enlightened politician than the so many we inherited or raised in Pakistan.

Its only the matter of law and order... I am living in Saudi Arabia since 20 years and everybody know the crime rate is zero over here just because we believe that the criminal will be punished positively. Here the law is equal for all from King to a simple layman.
