KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said Tuesday that the MQM will support Pakistan army in decisions made on national interest, DawnNews reported.

Speaking at the 40th foundation day of the MQM, Altaf said that the party entered mainstream politics 14 years ago.

He further said that the MQM believes in democracy and respects every party’s vote banks.

“We will not allow any conspiracy to end the democratic government,” said Altaf Hussain.

Altaf said that the government should complete its tenure but in compliance with the constitution and law.

He also said that the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari should tell his supporters to not ridicule the constitution.
