WASHINGTON: A bomb threat made by a woman at the Dayton, Ohio airport caused authorities to search a flight that landed at Reagan National Airport in Washington DC on Sunday, officials said.

The US Airways flight, which was already en route from Dayton International to Washington when the threat was made, landed safely at a far end of Reagan National's airfield and FBI, the Transportation Security Administration said.

TSA and local law enforcement are now investigating.

According to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis, all 44 passengers were taken off the plane at 1:00 pm (1700 GMT) and were being questioned by law enforcement officials.

A TSA official said the plane was screened by a bomb squad and turned up negative.

Mickalonis said flights in and out of Reagan National continued after a brief delay, though US Airways spokeswoman Tina Swail said US Airways express flights were experiencing delays.
