MANSEHRA, March 23: Serious differences have cropped up in the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Battagram, following no action by the party leaders over rigging in the election of party's district amir.

Speaking at a press conference in Battagram on Wednesday, Mufti Nisar said that a probe committee constituted by JUI-F provincial amir Gul Naseeb had found a clear evidence of rigging in the election and recommended action against the distract amir, ex-MNA Qari Mohammad Yousuf.

“Three months have passed since the charges were proved, but no action is taken against Mr Yousuf. We have no other option now but to form a separate group,” said Mr Nisar, brother of Maulana Rasheed who had lost the elections last year.

The group boycotted the party meeting and held the press conference where Mufti Nisar also demanded of the provincial amir to remove Qari Yousuf from the slot of district amir in the larger interest and unity of the party in Battagram.

FOREST PROTECTION: People of Shargar of Oghi tehsil on Wednesday demanded of the Inspector General of Police Fiaz Toru to grant a permanent status to police checkpost at the Karori area, as it had been effectively checking illegal cutting of trees in the forests.

Former nazim of Karori union council Aslam Khan, Forest Protection Committee president Malik Younus and Ghulam Mustafa told a press conference at Oghi that the temporary checkpost was established at Karori after a series of protest demonstrations.

They said that earlier timber smugglers in connivance with some forest officials were involved large-scale illegal cutting of the trees in the forests of Khen Karori, Chimyial and Karori.

They said that timber smugglers were now using political pressure for closure of the checkpost.

They have demanded of the IGP, IGP Hazara and DPO Mansehra give a permanent status to the checkpost so as to protect the forests.

TORGHAR: Provincial minister Nimroz Khan has asked the people of all the five tribes of Torghar to develop a consensus on the district headquarters city so that development work could be started in the area as soon as possible.

“The ANP wants to end the deprivations of people of Torghar, and very soon work under mega developmental package announced by the chief minister would be started,” the minister said while speaking at a public meeting in Mangakot area of Torghar the other day.
