A great site when you are in the need of finding out facts about anything is www.factmonster.com. It is a website for children and teens with great sections such as the Reference Desk, Atlas, Timeline, and you can also check out the meanings of phrases and the words in the Dictionary. If the dictionary is here then an encyclopaedia and an almanac cannot be far away too so you find them here too.
The site is in eight sections with the first having facts about flags, religion, war, world geography and history, major accidents and disasters.
The second part is devoted to science, and containing information regarding animals, astronomy and space, body, computers and internet, environment, food, general science, inventions, transport and weather.
The third section in www.factmonster.com is all about US and the fourth focuses on people and contains biographies, fun facts, and the fifth, sixth, seventh and eight parts are Sports, Art and Living, Word wise, Math, and other interesting sections such as Kids` Guide to Career, Homework Desk, Pets, Origins of names, Quizzes. In fact, there is everything in www.factmonster.com that any kid would want to know — almost!
