NAWABSHAH, Aug 23: Some unidentified men hijacked a truck and a trailer loaded with goods at gunpoint in two different incidents from the National Highway, on Wednesday.

A truck#PAE-588 loaded with soap was heading to Sukkur from Chothon Mile near Sakrand when armed bandits stopped it and made good their escape with truck after disembarking driver Muhammad Sharif and cleaner Muhammad Aziz on gunpoint.

No FIR was lodged till filing of this report.

Yet, in another instance about seven highwaymen took away trailer#TLF833 loaded with gas cylinders from Roshanabad Bus Stop, National Highway near Qazi Ahmed. It was going to Lahore.

ELECTROCUTED: Lineman Mohammad Aslam Siyal 50 of Hesco died of electrocution on Wednesday. He was working on an electric line in Santha Singh Goth, Nawabshah.

BAN: Zila Nazim Nawabshah, Ms Faryal Talpur in exercise of powers conferred to her under section 144 CrPC, has imposed ban on manufacturing, sale, use and storage of explosive material, firecrackers and all sorts of chemicals and devices used in fireworks within the jurisdiction of district from Aug 22 to 28.
