HYDERABAD, Dec 10: Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s special task force for Sindh held a peace march from the Shahbaz building to the press club here on Saturday to mark the 57th International Human Rights Day.

The HRCP organized the march in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Labour, Education and Research (PILER), Green Rural Development Organization (GRDO), Society for the Protection of Rights of Child (SPARC), National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), Democratic Commission for Human Development (DCHD) and Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life including women participated in the rally.

On their way to the press club, the participants of the peace march staged a sit-in at two places on the main road and raised slogans for recovery of Mannu Bheel’s family.

The rally turned into a public meeting at the Hyderabad press club.

Mannu Bheel, Nasreen Shakeel Pathan, Jam Saqi, Prof Mushtaq Mirani, Prof Badar Soomro, MPA Rehman Rajput, Awami Tehrik leaders Abrar Qazi, Dr Hyder Malookani, Ramzan Memon and Nazeer Memon spoke on the occasion.

Indus Valley Street Theatre artists A.G. Chandio, Altaf Soomro and Ashraf Baloch staged a street theatre based on the ordeal of Mannu Bheel.

Students of Institute of Fine Arts, University of Sindh, displayed their works relating to the human rights day.
