LAHORE: The Punjab government has set up the Punjab Charity Commission under the Punjab Charity Act 2018 to ensure monitoring of the collection of ‘Sadqaat’ and charity as well as their proper utilisation.

It will now be compulsory for all charitable organisations and institutions working across the province to register with the commission before Aug 15.

In order to facilitate NGOs, trusts, societies and other charities, a web registration portal has also been set up to promote e-governance and to ensure one-click access to the services.

Applicants can register themselves by visiting www.charitycommission.punjab.gov.pk.
