RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) and the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company on Thursday observed an anti-dengue day to create awareness among the citizens about the dengue fever.

Walks were arranged and the officials distributed pamphlets among the citizens in different parts of the city.

Wasa also organised a dengue awareness seminar at its offices at Liaquat Bagh. Wasa Managing Director Raja Shaukat Mahmood briefed the participants about the efforts of the civic agencies to eradicate the dengue epidemic.

He said the agency had cleaned all district offices, site offices, waterworks, overhead tanks, tubewells and employees’ residential colonies.

He said the agency had established rapid response teams to clear water/dewatering and plugging of leakages.
