ISLAMABAD: The High Powered Selection Board ((HPSB) chaired by the Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to consider the promotions of senior bureaucrats today (Friday).

Sources in the Establishment Division told Dawn that the HPSB will consider senior civil servants for grade 22 and the lion’s share of top posts will go to the powerful Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), formerly known as the District Management Group.

In a rare move, a seat has been reserved for the grade 22 post for the Military Land and Cantonment cadre, sources said, adding that Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Masood Chaudhry, who served in the Establishment Division for more than 11 years is also a candidate for this position.

According to sources, there are about 14 grade 22 seats for the PAS. The panel of eligible PAS officers includes 43 officers from grade 21.

Mohammad Misbah and Qaiser Majeed Malik are at the top of the seniority list, and others include Balochistan Chief Secretary Fazeel Asghar, former Islamabad High Court registrar Nadeem Irshad Kiani, Nazir Akhtar, Amna Imran Khan, Allamuddin Bullo, Dr Tanvir A. Qureshi, Ahmed Hamid Orakzai, Shamsuddin Soomro, Abid Hussain, Tashfeen Khan, Mohammad Mushtaq Chandna, Ijaz Ahmed Khan, Khaqan Bahadur, Haroon Ahmed Khan, Zafar Nasrullah Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Javed Akbar, Rashid Mansoor, Minor Azam, Sajid Siddique, Mohammad Sualeh Faruqui, Matahir Niaz Rana, Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah, Dr Ismat Tahira, Farah Hamid Khan, Syed Ahmed Nawaz, Bushra Aman, Humeea Ahmed, Sikandar Qayyum, Shaukat Ali, Irum Bukhari, Zulfiqar Haider Khan, Arif Anwar Baloch, Sher Afgan Khan, Jamal Yousaf, Shahzad Khan Bangash, Naveed Alauddin, Ishrat Ali, Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, Farhan Aziz Khawaja and Sher Alam Mehsood.

The sources said that the meeting of the HPSB is subject to the availability of the prime minister.
