SWABI/SHANGLA: A woman was killed when roof of a house collapsed in Jhanda Bokoo village of Swabi on Sunday.

The family said the roof was weakened by the recent rains. The victim was named Zartaja Begum.

The local people and Rescue 1122 personnel retrieved the body from the debris.

During the rescue operation, a wall of the house also collapsed, injuring a man, Taj Bahadar. He was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.

Meanwhile, heavy landslides continuing for last four days are troubling the commuters travelling on Shangla roads.

Bisham-Swat, Alpuri-Puran and many link roads have been blocked at several points, and the people are trying to clear the roads on self-help basis.

Commuter Ashfaq Ahmed said landslides had blocked Bisham-Swat Road at several points, and asked the district administration to deploy machinery to remove the debris.
