LAKKI MARWAT: Six patwaris of revenue department here have been suspended from service on the charges of receiving illegal gratification and committing irregularities in land mutation.

An official told this scribe on Tuesday that the suspension orders were issued by deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb after he learnt about the malpractices.

He said that the deputy commissioner contacted several buyers and sellers of land when mutation statement for January was furnished to his office.

“During telephonic conversations with the buyers and sellers the administration’s official came to know that patwaris, including Salim, Zafrullah and Riaz, have received illegal monetary gains while Mamoor Jan, Hidayatullah and Noor Aslam entered wrong mobile numbers on the mutation documents,” said the official.

KILLED: Two people were killed in separate incidents here.

According to Lakki police, body of a teenage boy was found in fields in Zerjanu village. Complainant Loradin stated that after offering Isha prayer his son Afnan, 12, went to his uncle’s home. “In the morning, I was informed that body of Afnan is lying in the fields near the village,” he told police.

The police have registered the case.

In another incident, a man was shot dead by his rivals in Gandi Umer Chikar village.

The police said Irfanullah and his brother Mohammad Ismail were attacked by their opponents.

They said Irfanullah received multiple injuries and died on the spot while Ismail escaped the attack.

Mr Ismail stated that the attackers, including Qudratullah, Inamullah, Tahir Kamal and Razaullah, came in a car and opened firing on them.

Police have registered the case.
