NOWSHERA: Four persons of a family, including two children, were killed when a train hit them while crossing the railway track near Amangher, Nowshera, here on Saturday.

According to police, the victims had come to Nowshera from Charsadda to attend a wedding of a relative. They were going back to their village when the incident occurred.

Police said Taj Mohammad was killed on the spot, while the two children and a woman succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to hospital. The other three victims were identified as Nazia, sister-in-law of Taj Mohammad, and her two children, Bilal, 6, and Khudija, 4.

The bodies were shifted to Pabbi hospital for autopsy. Another woman, accompanying the victims, lost consciousness when she saw the incident happening.

She was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
