KARACHI: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four suspected robbers who mostly robbed women in Defence, Clifton, Gizri, Delhi Colony and adjoining areas, South SSP Sheeraz Nazeer said.

In a recent video, two held suspects were seen looting a woman and beating her in Delhi Colony, which went viral on social media, added the officer while speaking at a press conference at his office.

He said that on Nov 7, three suspects stormed into a shop in Delhi Colony, snatched gold ornaments from the woman and also tortured her when she resisted. The video of this incident went viral on social media.

A special police team with the help of technology and witnesses arrested Dildar Khan, alias Dillu, and Waqas, alias Vicky, and seized two gold bangles from them, which were snatched from the woman. The clothes, which they wore during the robbery as seen in the video, have also been recovered.

Their two other accomplices, identified as Shahbaz, alias Shabbu, and Khurram, alias Lamba, were also arrested. They were seen in CCTV footage during the robbery in DHA Phase-II six months ago.
