PESHAWAR: The government has appointed Prof Ziaul Haq pro-vice chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU) for two years.

A statement issued here on Thursday said that Prof Ziaul Haq was the recipient of several awards, including lifetime achievement award 2017, HEC Pakistan Best University Teacher Award 2018, and HEC Pakistan Best Young Researcher Award 2019 in recognition of his services in the field of public health.

He also has to his credit the launching of many public health and family medicine programmes during his 11-year service at KMU and is supervising several PhD scholars and MPhil researchers. He is a principal investigator of several large research studies.

He has done his PhD in Public Health from Glasgow, UK, and MBBS and MPH from Pakistan.

Prof Haq is also a member of core group of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Policy Advisory Council.
