LANDI KOTAL: Representatives of different youth organisations from Khyber tribal district have demanded induction of local educated youth into the Khasadar and Levies forces besides other government departments.

Speaking at ‘Meet the Press’ programme at Landi Kotal Press Club on Thursday, they said that the federal government in its Sartaj Aziz report about merger of tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had promised to recruit 20,000 local youth in the Levies force, but the plan was yet to be implemented.

They said that the present government instead of recruiting the educated youth had continued with the little literate or illiterate tribesmen both in Khasadar and Levies forces.

“Untrained and illiterate Khasadar personnel have been elevated to the position of DSP and SHO,” they claimed.

They said that the local educated youth were eagerly waiting for their induction into the law-enforcing agencies.

Khyber Youth Forum president Aamir Afridi also spoke on the occasion.
