KARACHI: A woman succumbed on Wednesday to dengue haemorrhagic fever at a private hospital in the city, taking the toll of deaths caused by the lethal mosquito-borne disease to 18 in Sindh this year, officials said.

An official representing the Sindh Dengue Fever Prevention and Control Programme confirmed the death of 35-year-old woman Samrin Bano, who lived in Metroville, a SITE neighbourhood.

Officials said the victim was brought to a private hospital located in Karachi Central in a critical condition where she succumbed to the disease.
