CHARSADDA: Awami National Party central chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf federal government’s refusal to give Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its share in the net hydel profit is violation of the Constitution.

He said the province was not begging from the centre rather it was seeking its constitutional right.

Speaking at a meeting of party workers at Wali Bagh after his return from Afghanistan, the ANP chief said the PTI government in KP was compromising on rights of the province.

Asfandyar alleged that the government had long been talking about rolling back the 18th Constitutional Amendment. However, after failure to do so the prime minister had made lame excuse that the federal government was not in a position to give KP its due share in the net hydel profit.

He said the ANP would now allow the federal government to usurp the KP’s constitutional right. He said his party workers had always rendered sacrifices for provincial autonomy and the 18th amendment.
