CHARSADDA/KOHAT: Seven persons were killed in two road accidents in Charsadda and Kohat.

Four persons of a family were killed when the car they were travelling in plunged into Lower Swat Canal at Bajaurho village near Jindi Pul in Tangi area of Charsadda on Sunday.

According to reports, the car coming from Yakaghund area of Mohmand tribal district, met the accident due to over-speeding.

The local people retrieved four bodies and one injured, who was later identified as the car driver. The deceased were identified as Qamar, his wife, and two sons, Bilal (7) and Muhammad (9). The bodies and injured driver, Saleh Mohammad, were shifted to tehsil headquarter hospital, Tangi. The injured was later referred to a major hospital in Peshawar in critical condition.

According to reports, the ill-fated family was coming to Charsadda to attend a wedding.

Meanwhile, three persons were killed two others injured when a car going in a wedding procession met an accident due to over-speeding near Kacha Pakha Chowk on Hangu Highway in Kohat on Saturday night.

The victims, all Afghan refugees, were shifted to the KDA teaching and women and children hospitals for treatment.

The police said the marriage party was coming from Hangu to Kohat.

The dead were identified as Umar Gul, Zakir Khan and Inamuddin, while injured were Musa Khan, and Hazratullah. The bodies were handed over to relatives after postmortem and taken to Hangu for burial.

When contacted, the Rescue 1122 officials said when they reached the scene of the accident the victims had already been shifted to the hospitals by their family members. The police registered the case and began further investigations.
