TIMERGARA: Hundreds of residents of Munda and Samar Bagh tehsils on Wednesday again held a demonstration against the killing of four persons of a same family at Gosum Munda.

The protesters led by local leaders of political parties blocked the main road at Munda for over two hours and demanded immediate arrest of the main suspect in the case. The protesters also chanted slogans against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its failure to take notice of the incident despite passage of six days.

Addressing the gathering, JI district chief Izazul Mulk, Mufti Ziaul Haq of Rahe Haq Party and others said that the government was least bothered to take notice of the incident. They said the local police had assured the protesters here the other day that the main suspect would be arrested within 24 hours, but that did not happen.

The speakers said that four persons, including a man, his son and two grandsons, were killed from one group while one man was killed from the rival group during an exchange of fire at Gosum area of Munda on Friday last.

Demand arrest of main suspect in the case

They said that the main suspect had been absconding. They said that SHO Munda was transferred without any inquiry, which was not enough. The protesters demanded of the government to probe into the matter through an impartial inquiry commission.

KILLED: A man identified as Umar Rehman was killed in firing when he was mediating in a dispute between his brother and nephew at Tango Dherai area of Lal Qila Maidan here on Wednesday, residents and police said.

They said that one Mohammad Zada was quarrelling with his son Abdur Rehman over cutting of trees. Umar Rehman was trying to end the scuffle, but meanwhile Mohammad Zada reportedly opened fire on his son. As a result, the bullet hit his brother Umar Rehman who died on the spot.
