MANSEHRA: A heavy landslide blocked the Jabori-Nawaz Abad Road in Siren valley on Saturday for hours, causing hardship to commuters.

“Landslides are frequently blocking the Jabori-Nawaz Abad section of Mansehra-Nawaz Abad Road, causing inconvenience to travellers, but the district administration is not taking any measure to keep the road open,” Mohammad Naveed, a local resident, told reporters.

The passengers remained stranded in long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road which was reopened to traffic after many hours.

Naveed said because of the frequent landslides the tourism industry in Siren valley had adversely been affected.

“Siren valley is a paradise on earth but dilapidated road from Shinkiari to Jabori and onward to Nawaz Abad is causing problems to tourists reaching the area,” he said.
