LAHORE: As many as 20 suspects brought to the Model Town courts on Monday fainted in the prison van due to dehydration and suffocation.

The Kot Lakhpat police brought at least 70 suspects in the van filled to its capacity.

Eyewitnesses said they saw the suspects screaming for water and fresh air as soon as the van entered the court premises.

They said the security personnel deputed at the court immediately took out the suspects from the van and gave them water to drink.

They said Rescue 1122 was also summoned as around 20 suspects had fallen unconscious. The rescue team provided them with first aid before they were produced before the court for hearing of cases.
