LAHORE: Police on Sunday arrested three of the PML-N workers, who had allegedly stopped a locomotive near the Kot Lakhpat Jail on Raiwind-Lahore railway track, during the party’s show of solidarity with their imprisoned supreme leader Nawaz Sharif.

The three PML-N workers – Union Council chairman Rai Liaquat, Shafqat Panda and Nadeem – were arrested from their respective houses and were produced before a court of law, which granted bail to them.

A group of PML-N activists had halted the locomotive raising slogans for release of the former prime minister so that he might get proper treatment for his heart and kidney ailments.

Condemning the arrests MPA Khwaja Imran Nazeer said the workers were captured in violation of the sanctity of their privacy. He added these tactics speak volumes of the dictatorial steps taken by the soc-called elected government.
