ISLAMABAD: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Islamabad on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to two in the murder case of former attorney general (AG) Mohammad Sardar Khan.
ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi also imposed a fine of Rs300,000 on each of the convicts, Sabeeullah and Iftikhar Ahmed.
The court issued perpetual warrants of arrest for two absconding accused.
Former Attorney General of Pakistan and retired Justice of Peshawar High Court, Mohammad Sardar Khan, was gunned down by unidentified attackers in Sector G-11 in 2010. Khan served as Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was practicing lawyer in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had also appointed him as amicus curie (friend of court) in the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case.
