PESHAWAR: Khyber Khasadar Force personnel have demanded of the government to approve a service structure for them on the pattern of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and maintain their seniority in the post-merger process.

Speaking at a news conference here on Monday, a representative of the law enforcers, Sobedar Major Saeed Jalal, said as a result of Fata-KP merger salaries of many personnel had been stopped as they were sent on forced retirement.

He demanded merger of all the personnel of Levies and Khasadar into police at the earliest, otherwise the personnel would start protests.

Mr Jalal also demanded that the government approve Shuhada Package for all the martyred personnel of Levies and Khasadar forces on pattern of other law-enforcement agencies.

Besides, he demanded reinstatement of the sacked personnel and release of the pending salaries as they were facing serious financial problems.

He also demanded recruitment of local youth in the police.
