New markets

Published December 11, 2018

THIS refers to the anti-encroachment drive by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). Thank God, the state is seen in action for the first time in the country’s history.

The bold step taken by the government is highly appreciated by law abiding citizens. The removal of illegal encroachments without any discrimination will definitely curtail criminal activities.

Footpaths have been commercialised and it has become difficult to use them. Special attention should be given to the activities of car dealers, intercity buses transporters, etc.

In order to curtail traffic rush around Saddar and Merewether Tower, new legal markets should be developed around KDA scheme 33.
