KARACHI: A man was shot dead allegedly for ‘honour’ in Orangi Town early on Thursday morning, according to Mominabad police.

Ibrahim, 33, was attacked by armed men outside his home in Wajid Colony in Sector 4-F of Orangi at around 3.30am. The body was handed over to the victim’s relatives after an autopsy was conducted at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Area SHO Asif Munawwar said that the victim’s brother has nominated three suspects in the murder case.

The deceased originally hailed from Mansehra; he used to live at his sister’s home where his niece got pregnant. There were charges of his involvement in the matter so he came to Karachi around four months ago.

Quoting the complainant’s brother, SHO Munawwar said that his brother had denied these charges and was planning to go to his native place to get a DNA test in order to prove himself innocent when he was murdered.

The officer withheld the identity of the nominated suspects.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Thursday claimed to have arrested an alleged hitman and extortionist among several other suspects.

The paramilitary force conducted an action in Landhi and Garden areas respectively and arrested two suspects, M. Rashid alias Dhaga and Syed Mansoor alias Chandi.

“Both held suspects were involved in targeted killings and extortion,” claimed the Rangers’ official.
