SWABI: A man and his son were allegedly killed by their blood relatives over a dispute on shops in Shewa village here on Tuesday.

Registering an FIR in Parmuli police station, Ibn-i-Amin said a dispute over division of shops in a local market between his family and that of their cousins had been continuing for last several months. He alleged that the latter failed to adopt a flexible approach to resolve the issue.

He said his cousins, Fawad Khan, Fazal Amin and Abbas Khan, allegedly opened fire on his father, Hazrat Jamal, and brother, Mohammad Amin, killing both of them on the spot. The killers escaped the area soon after the incident.

Police said they raided various houses of the relatives of the alleged killers, but no arrest could be made.

Meanwhile, heads of public sector educational institutions on Tuesday called for the teachers to involve students in co-curricular activities to ensure their healthy and positive upbringing.

They were speaking at a meeting held at government higher secondary school, Kalabat, to mark the conclusion of games competitions held across the Topi tehsil.

On the occasion, Mohammad Fareed, general secretary of district sports committee and principal of government higher secondary school, Kalabat, said intellectual, physical and moral development of a student was vital for him to excel in practical life.

“Co-curricular activities help students become physically and mentally strong,” he said, adding physically strong students could also excel in their study, even in the worst circumstances.
