GUJRANWALA: The district bar association has decided to observe strike for two days in a week to press for the establishment of a high court bench.

Talking to Dawn, DBA President Noor Muhammad Mirza and Secretary Zaheer Ahmad Cheema said the establishment of high court bench was the need of the hour. People are facing problems because they have to travel to Lahore for hearing.

Another member bar association, S.A Hameed, said more than 60,000 cases of the region were pending with Lahore High Court while the people had been appearing in courts for 30 years.

The DBA demanded that the government take steps to set up a high court bench otherwise they would go for a strike twice a week (Friday and Saturday) while a camp would also be held.
