QUETTA: A group of lawyers belonging to the Asma Jahangir Panel has nominated Ali Ahmed Kurd as its presidential candidate for the election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) to be held on October 27.

Speaking at a joint news conference on Wednesday evening, senior lawyers Kamran Murtaza, Ali Ahmed Kurd, Hadi Shakeel, Balochistan High Court Bar Association president Shah Mohammad Jatoi, Attaullah Langove, Najam Mengal and other lawyers announced fielding Ali Ahmed Kurd as their candidate for the SCBA elections.

“Earlier, the Asma Jahangir Panel had nominated Amanullah Yasinzai as presidential candidate but due to his poor health we have decided to name Ali Ahmed Kurd as Balochistan’s candidate,” they said.
