A day after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took notice of a suspected promotional video featuring a Polish tourist dancing in and around a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft ─ allegedly made by the airline ─ the national flag carrier denied any involvement in the incident.
A video showing Polish tourist and travel blogger Eva Bianka Zubeck performing the popular 'Kiki Challenge' in and outside a PIA aircraft went viral on social media on Monday.
Social media users across the globe over the last few weeks have been sharing videos, using the hashtag #KikiChallenge, which typically consist of jumping out of a moving vehicle and dancing along to the song "In My Feelings" by Canadian singer Drake.

The NAB took notice of the video as it believed that the woman had not only disgraced the national flag by wrapping it around her body but also violated the security codes of national airlines and the airport.
"We want to know who allowed the woman to go into an empty aircraft and dance at the airport," the NAB spokesman earlier told Dawn, adding that the watchdog would send an official letter to PIA on Aug 15 seeking the management's point of view on the issue.
"We want to ascertain that who had permitted the women to freely move into a highly-secured runway of the airport," he said.
NAB also ordered probe against PIA for allegedly disgracing the flag and misuse of authority, and against those who had allowed the woman to enter the runway and the plane.
The issue escalated quickly ─ so much so that Zubeck had to issue a clarification within hours of posting the video.
PIA Spokesperson Mashhood Tajwar in a statement today said, "PIA denies any involvement in the video of a foreigner girl dancing. This video was shared on PIA's page but now has been deleted."
"An inquiry has been constituted in this regard," he added.
The spokesperson added that an event was held at PIA Head Office to celebrate Independence Day, to which the media had also been invited.
It is pertinent to mention that the national flag carrier had earlier announced a collaboration with the Polish woman for making the Independence Day video.

I have sadly noticed that non issues are becoming issues. This issue of the Polish tourist and Imran Khan's accommodation is being overblown out of proportion.

This is absolutely crazy. This girl is showing her love for our country and promoting a soft image of Pakistan to the world. We as a country and PIA as an institution has multiple other important issues that needs to be taken care off. PIA resources can/should be used on other important things. NAB chairman should focus on national accountability. We are reported to have a $2 billion dollar per month deficit. How much money has he brought back into the country in the last two months. How much of our looted money is going to be brought back in the next three months/2018/till 2020. where is that plan

I see nothing wrong in Eva's video and appreciate her support and vlogging for Pakistan.
However, on PIA denying knowledge of how the video was shot is shocking! What is even more surprising is that Pakistan NAB thinks it is their business to regulate an innocent kiki challenge :)

This video has been filled in 2 different aircrafts which are parked somewhere. Even when an aircraft is parked somewhere, they are guarded by Airport Security Force. First of all ASF should be asked how a foreign national was allowed to approach and enter an aircraft. The ASF will be able to clarify who had planned this venture which has unfortunately backfired.

Shame on PIA!! First you ask a foreigner to do a promotional Kiki challange video and when NAB gets after you, you deny any involvement! It's not like the lady just appeared at the airport, on the apron and the ATR was just there open for her to do a video!! Someone must have given her a security clearance to the aircraft! Nothing wrong with her wrapping our national flag around her. As far as the security is concerned, yes need to find out who and on whose authority was she allowed to roam around. There should have been "dos & don'ts" around for her and for anyone. "No go" areas are out of bound for everyone. This security lapse should be investigated and for future should keep a vigilant look out for this kind of episode.

The people of Pakistan welcome the initiative by Polish tourist to celebrate Pakistan Day. In happiness, draping and dancing with a national flag is 'no' disrespect to the flag. Just as sportsmen and women drape their national flags to celebrate victory in Olympics and other world sporting events. She was not in a miniskirt, but wore green and white Pakistani dress which was beautiful. NAB has nothing to do with this. PIA has nothing to do with this even though its aircraft was used, which was great publicity for a failing airline. We love and thank the visitor and warmly welcome her to Pakistan.
