FAISALABAD: Waqar Ahmed Wahla, candidate for PP-109 from the Aam Admi Party, was gunned down by his rivals in Chak 8-JB, Panjgarain, on Wednesday.

He had a dispute with Imran and his brother.

On Tuesday, Wahla alerted the Nishatabad police that Imran came to his house and asked for the money that they never owed him. He had told police that Imran with his brothers Suffyan and Rehman hurled life threats on him, thrashed his brother Waqas and fled from the scene resorting to fire, the applicant said.

The Rescue 1122 personnel treated Waqas.

Police did not register any case against the accused people on the application of Wahla.

On Wednesday, Wahla was near his home when his rivals opened fire on him, leaving him dead at the scene. Nishatabad police launched investigation into the issue without any arrest.
