KARACHI: Bilal Irshad slammed a whirlwind undefeated century as Qasmi Gymkhana chalked up their second consecutive victory in the 33rd Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Festival for the Omar Associates Trophy here on Wednesday.

Qasmi Gymkhana annihilated Ashfaq Memorial Hospital by a convincing 75-run margin in the Group ‘C’ tie at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground with Bilal following his unbeaten 89 against Karachi Gymkhana last Sunday again playing a pivotal role.

Batting first once Abid Qasmi won the toss on another sweltering day in the city, Qasmi Gymkhana amassed 189-4 on the back of Bilal’s 69-ball innings of 110 that included eight sixes and seven fours.

Opener Akhtar Mohammad scored a 16-ball 29 with the aid of two sixes and as many fours while playing secondary role in the second-wicket partnership of 87 with man-of-the-match Bilal.

Ashfaq Memorial Hospital, in reply, were restricted to 114 all out in 15.5 overs as only Mohammad Saleem (36 off 21 balls, six fours) and Haseeb-ur-Rehman (unbeaten 34 off 32, two sixes) played useful knocks.

Slow left-armer Mohammad Usman was the wrecker-in-chief with figures of 4-24 in four overs with fellow left-armer Wasim Ali taking 3-26 in 3.5 overs.

Summarised scores:

QASMI GYMKHANA 189-4 in 20 overs (Bilal Irshad 110, Akhtar Mohammad 29; Hasnain Bukhari 2-23, Usman Aleem 2-26); ASHFAQ MEMORIAL HOSPITAL 114 in 15.5 overs (Mohammad Saleem 36, Haseeb-ur-Rehman 34 not out; Mohammad Usman 4-24, Wasim Ali 3-26, Hasan Sardar 2-2).
