QUETTA: The West Pakistan Minister for Tribal Affairs, Mr Ghulam Sarwar Khan, said that the comprehensive master plan for the overall development of frontier regions comprising the divisions of Quetta, Kalat, Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar would be reading within the next four months. He was talking to newsmen on arrival in Sibi this morning [Feb 18].

The Provincial Minister said that data collected from these areas under the specific instructions of President Ayub Khan were almost complete and schemes were incorporated in the plan on priority basis to ensure the overall economic development.

Mr Ghulam Sarwar said the President and the Provincial Governor were giving personal attention to the speedy development of under-developed areas of West Pakistan. With a view to ensure quick execution of development projects, the Commissioners of Quetta and Kalat divisions had already been delegated financial powers for sanctioning schemes up to the value of Rs10 lakhs, he pointed out.
