MULTAN: Two more patients of seasonal influenza H1N1 died at the Nishtar Hospital on Sunday, raising the death toll in the city to 29.

The deceased have been identified as Inayatullah, 62, of Multan and Humaira, 28, of Layyah. Both the deceased persons were admitted to the ICU of the hospital.

According to the health department figures, 222 suspected patients were admitted to various hospitals in the district since Dec 15 last. Of them, 113 tested positive for H1N1 strain of the swine flu virus.

As per official record, 21 swine flu patients are being treated at the Nishtar Hospital out of which 17 are being kept in the isolation ward and four in the ICU, while result of the blood samples of 14 others is being awaited.
