GWADAR: A former militant commander was gunned down in Turbat town of Kech district on Wednesday evening, Levies sources said.

Levies officials said that Muhammad Bakhsh alias Jaggo was targeted by armed motorcyclists when he came out of his house in the Nasirabad area. He received multiple bullet injuries and succumbed to his wounds on the spot.

The body was taken to the district hospital Turbat and handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities.

According to the Levies officials, Jaggo was an important commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF). However, differences cropped up between him and the BLF leadership after the killing of National Party leader Mola Bakhsh Dashti in an attack. Jaggo then left the BLF and formed his own militant group.

About three years ago, he abandoned militant activities and surrendered to the government.

During armed militancy his two brothers and two sons were killed.
