ISLAMABAD: There are over 2,000 ghost employees working in the Capital Development Authority (CDA), officials of the civic body said.

Talking to Dawn, officials of the civic body said over 13,000 employees receive salaries and that only 11,000 responded when they were asked to furnish their details.

“We have now decided to stop the salaries of those who did not submit their details,” said Member Administration Yasir Pirzada.

Talking to Dawn on Sunday, he said the administration wing will conduct a physical audit of all its employees.

Some months ago, the CDA started the process of identification and will also be installing bio-metric attendance machines in all directorates of the CDA.

“It is our responsibility to identify all ghost employees and I will leave no stone unturned in completing this process,” he said, adding that the administration wing had also finalised an organogram of the CDA, for the first time in the history of the authority.
