ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived here on Thursday to attend the D-8 group summit being held here.

On arrival at the Istanbul airport, the PM was received by Deputy Governor of Istanbul Mehmet Ali Ulutas.

This is the ninth summit of eight developing countries — Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran and Nigeria. Pakistan is the current chairman of the group and it held the post beyond the normal period of two years, but now Prime Minister Abbasi will hand over the chairmanship of the group to Turkey.
